Another great day in the barn!
February 12, 2012
It was brisk, but all the horses were good!
Fi had an easy day as she was only lunged. She was very happy about this! It's good to changes things up a but!
Black Betty was tired from yesterday, but we worked on the suppleness. I love the turn on the forehand for her as it really helps her understand the inside leg to outside rein connection. After our bending exercising we worked on extension to send her to the bit. Sometimes she ducks behind the connection. We end with her stretching down and out to the connection, so our work was productive!
Had a whole new level of conrtol and balance in the canter with Jewel. It felt collected and that I could adjust her. This is big!! She is not always adjustable or she does not want to come back to my containing aids. We had super canter pirouettes. And again we worked on the response to the aid for the flying lead change. There is a little delay now to the right to left chnage, which was never there before! The left to right is great, which used to be the weaker of the too! I guess we...

Bbbrrrrrr it was cold today
February 11, 2012
We have been so spoiled with our 40 degress days, that when 20 degrees blows in - not sure what to do! ;) I had several layers and carharts! Yikes! Can't wait for Spring.
The day started with Hughy! We worked on canter half pass zig zags. Our 2's were great, but he only wanted to give me 9 one's. We need 15 for GP, Super Duper! ;) Passage and Piaffe were great. Although Hughy thinks it's hard to passage and turn at the same time. He such a neat horse.
Bettina was great. Work on some of the 2nd level counter canter and we played with shoulder in to renvers. It all went really well! Can't wait for the next show, but I am glad we have time to keep working on things.
Jewel worked on canter pirouettes. They were less hectic today. Making sure the response for the single change flying lead change was better.
Tami and Boo worked on impulsion as she was not really working. By the end of the lesson Boo's hindleg looked active and engaged! Yeah Boo!
Jessie & Wellie danced to their freestyle. It was so much fun to watch them in action. ...

The force was with Lindinhof today..........
February 9, 2012
What an amazing day! It's not ever day that all horses and rider end with great rides! Love it. thanks to Shea for helping me out today.
The day started with Jewel. It was all about controling the tempo of the canter and I also had good neck control. No more bulging under neck for us. At least not until tomorrow! Ha! Had smooth canter pirouettes, not hectis running around! Then we played with flying lead change. Had four's on th quarterlines! We have not worked on tempi since the show. Good girl, Jewel.
Next up was Bettina. I had the best ride on her ever. It was also all about control and submission. However, I would like to think of it as acceptance of the contact. It only took a few months, but had the best connetion ever on her. Which of course made the ride the best! She was well balance and had a beautiful cadance in the trot. So, hoping I can find the right amount of investors in time to have her on the American team for the YH Championships. what an amazing horse!
Hughy was also amazing. We worked on some GP move such as...
